In Beijing, near the China World Trade Centre, Chinese engineers are linked to the IET's worldwide knowledge exchange network by the China representative office.
The IET is establishing itself as the hub of knowledge exchange in the field of electrical and electronic engineering, IT, communications and manufacturing between engineers working in industry and those in academia in all regions of the world.
The primary objective in China is to attract Chinese engineers to contribute their knowledge and innovative ideas into this world exchange.
In October 2006 the office relocated within the China Merchants Tower, one of the most prestigious commercial buildings in Beijing CBD.
It is opposite the China World Trade Centre and the China World Hotel. The World Trade Centre (Guomao Station of Subway Line No.1) is just within 5 minutes walking distance. The office is inside the Far Glory business centre which can provide conference and meeting facilities for up to 30 people.
