One of four PNRA scholarships available in 2011

Find out about the PNRA research studentship available at Strathclyde University. The project looks into new approaches to meet future power systems operational needs. 

Project description

This project will seek to investigate main issues regarding NG (National Grid) intention to address issues related to procurement and planning of reserve. Two main topics will include improvement of existing reserve services provision and long-term reserve development. The research will help NG develop a set of recommendations and definitions for technical requirement for reserve provision, as well as new tools that will be use to evaluate influences of changes in future system operation.

Funding notes

This studentship is only open to UK citizens. It is sponsored collaboratively by companies from the UK electricity supply industry sector.
