Details of the 2010 IET Ambition and Achievement Awards sponsors: BP, GCHQ, RS Components and Transport for London (TfL).
BP is one of the world’s largest energy companies with more than 80,000 people operating in over 100 countries and six continents. We have a network of 11 refineries, 15 million customers every day and a production capacity of 3.9 billion barrels of oil equivalent per day. In this age of growing global demand and environmental urgency, we are looking at new and better ways of delivering energy to the world - without compromising the planet.
This year we intend to hire more than 750 undergraduates and graduates worldwide, to help shape the BP of tomorrow. You will move into a science, engineering or business role within one of operational areas - exploration and production, refining and marketing or within our business functions. Through structured development programmes we will help you become a specialist in your own right.
For more information on our opportunities and to apply please visit the BP website.
Conflict, shifting boundaries, terrorism, military action, international crime and the ever widening influence of the internet…welcome to the interesting world of GCHQ. One of the UK’s three intelligence and security agencies (working in partnership with the Security Service (MI5) and Secret Intelligence Service (MI6)), GCHQ’s expertise lies in the electronic and digital world or ‘signals intelligence’ as it’s known. At the core of this lies one of the world’s most powerful computing environments, helping us monitor and gather electronic and digital signals from around the world which – when converted into intelligence material – plays a crucial role in countering threats to British people and interests.
Based in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, GCHQ is one of the few places outside of academia where individuals can practise advanced techniques, particularly with regard to IT, the Internet, engineering and mathematical research, as well as other areas – such as languages and information assurance.
