Egypt Present Around the World Finals

This is a brief update about the EMEA regional PATW event which was held in Cairo on Saturday 25th September. The event was a great success, with the active participation of 5 competitors from 5 countries in the EMEA region. The event was held in Marriott Zamalek Hotel, Cairo and attended by more than 50 people members, nonmembers as well as students. The winner was Yara Omar Abdallah from Egypt and the runner up was Zabdiel Dominguez Trinidad from Switzerland. 

The event was organised by students volunteering from Egypt (list of volunteers' names below) under the leadership of Mr. Faisal Eissa, YP member of the EMEA RB and supported by Dr. Mahmoud Chawki, President of The IET in Egypt. 

The event was judged by members of The IET and the BEIE (list of Judges' names below) and attended by Dr. Gamal Abu Taleb, Chairman of the BEIE and Mr. Sam Mclaughlin, President of the YPCT. The event was a great chance for a presentation about the BEIE services and the IET activities in Egypt delivered by Dr. Gamal Abou Taleb. Moreover, a lot of IET promotional material, publications, and gadgets were distributed among the audience, thanks to the support of the IET staff.

A complete program was organized for the competitors before and after the competition visiting ancient, historical and cultural sites of engineering interest in Cairo (list of visited sites below and photos below).
