This May sees technology take over the traditional manual counting of ballot papers in one of the most complicated elections ever to take place in Britain. For obvious reasons it needs to be right first time. That technology, using UK designed and built equipment, will be presented and demonstrated.

The London Mayor and Assembly elections are on 3 May and these are the most complicated and largest elections to take place in Britain. Each voter has 3 scannable ballot papers which are scanned in centralised counting centres using over 300 UK designed and manufactured specialised high speed image scanners.
Steve Beats will describe and demonstrate the technology, and talk of the challenges of setting up and running such a large system for a handful of hours.
