Strengthening the debate between engineers, policy-makers and wider society on technology solutions for 21st Century global issues.
Engineers and technologists are at the forefront of shaping solutions to the challenges facing society today. They have the drive and ability to develop and implement complex yet robust systems to deliver society’s growing needs.
Through our members, the IET is aware that working in open collaboration and communication with policy-makers and end-users ensures speedier and more successful results. To enhance this process, the IET is determined that engineering ‘thought leadership’ should be more widely recognised integrated into policy, and effectively communicated to society.
The IET works to build stronger relationships between engineering professionals, policy-makers and the wider public, focussing on successful partnerships and developing excellent two-way communication and understanding.
Indirectly, this will continue to raise public understanding of the role of engineers and technologists, and their recognition in society.
Through our Global Agenda which examines the impact of Engineering and technology in society the IET is enhancing and refocusing its activities, strengthening existing partnerships and forging new relationships with key stakeholders.
